The first decent compilation of these Clement Bushay productions.
Downright crucial Jazzbo like Step Forward Youth and Every Nigger Is A Winner.

His first professional studio session — in a cupboard set up to do jingles — produced many of his most famous sides and definitive versions. Stuff like Part Of The Problem, Bloody Knuckles, Teen Routines.

Welcome 2 America

NPG

Retrieved from around 2010 — ‘the best album Prince made in the last two decades of his life’, according to The Guardian. ‘From its opening title track — stark, slow-motion funk in which Prince casts a weary eye over the state of the nation, a spiritual younger cousin of Sign o’ the Times — it gradually reveals itself to be of completely different quality to anything he deigned to release at the time: a collection of largely brilliant, socially aware songs. It’s often inspired by early 70s soul, most notably golden-era Curtis Mayfield.’

The Deluxe edition includes a CD, Blu-ray, poster, book, the works.

Prince Philip Presents

Dubplates And Raw Rhythm From King Tubby's Studio 1973-1976

Prince Philip / Digikiller

A stupendous haul of sound-system specials and inspired experiments conjured from some of the greatest reggae rhythms of all time, from the inner sanctum of King Tubby’s studio in the mid-seventies (where Philip Smart was second engineer).
Seething with lethal touches of Tubby; dotted with head-spinning walk-ons for Hugh Mundell, Johnny Clarke, Jacob Miller and co; steeped in the genius of young Augustus Pablo, Smart’s childhood friend.
A staggering turn-up. Utterly crucial.
